CTH+A Firm News
CTH+A has designed pro bono a prototype store for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida that supports the organization’s new initiative to eliminate its 20-year practice of subleasing store locations. The organization’s new business model takes advantage of Industrial Revenue Bonds to develop free-standing stores and service centers in high visibility locations that best serve the needs of Goodwill’s clients and donors. The prototype store offers 12,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 5,000 sq. ft. of back-of-house space including areas for receiving and processing of donated items. In addition to the prototype store design, CTH+A also provided planning and interior design services for Goodwill’s new headquarters facility located at 7531 South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando, Fla.
CTH+A and Clancy & Theys Construction Company have been selected to provide design/build services for the following projects:
- The proposed $5.5 million Lake Mary Community Center. Preliminary plans for the new lakefront community center call for a 20,000 GSF foot two-story facility. The design phase is scheduled for completion in November 2006.
- A new $10.2 million city hall for the City of Winter Garden, Fla. The three-story 40,000 GSF facility is slated for completion in June 2008.
The City of Clermont has selected CTH+A to provide planning and architectural service for a new community center and improvements to city hall. The contract includes development of a space needs assessment and site analysis for a new community center as well as city hall building and site modifications, including the demolition of Jenkins Auditorium adjacent to city hall to create a courtyard and other open areas.
