Rene Alvarez promoted to Senior Associate. He has worked in the planning and design field for nearly 20 years, including project experience in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the U.S. He holds both a Master of Science in urban design and a bachelor’s degree in architecture with honors from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. |

Hector Torres-Oyola promoted to Associate. He is a senior project manager and director of CADD with the firm, he has 22 years of experience in project management and design. Hector holds a Master in Arts degree in architecture and environmental design from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. |

William L. Walker, AIA, joins the firm as a senior project manager. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the areas of general contracting, engineering and architecture and has been involved in many of Central Florida’s premier projects. His career began in general contracting as vice president of a residential design/build firm. As an engineer, he was involved in several commercial projects in the region, including the Orlando International Airport, Orlando/Orange County Convention Center, SunBank and the American Adventure at EPCOT. For the past 15 years, Walker has worked as an architect and project manager for some of Central Florida’s top architectural firms. He holds a master’s in architecture degree from Florida A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Florida. He is a published author, having recently completed a book focusing on the top 25 causes of water-related building problems and how to avoid them. |

Senior Associate Nathan Butler, AIA, elected to the board of directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida. The non-profit organization works to help children overcome disabilities resulting from a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida and autism. UCP currently serves more than 2,300 children and their families in Central Florida. |

Deborah Ferro joins the firm to fill the newly created position of assistant to president / office administrator. In addition to serving as assistant to firm President C.T. Hsu, Ferro will be responsible for all office administration, including human resource management. She has more than 20 years of executive assistant experience in chairman/CEO offices, including Hard Rock Café & Planet Hollywood International, United Medical Corporation and the West Orange Healthcare District. |
