Construction Completed on Mount Dora High School
CTH+A’s master plan merged two campuses across Mount Dora’s North Highland Street to create a new and stimulating high school environment with two-story brick buildings linked by upper level canopied walkways overlooking tastefully landscaped and hard-scaped courtyards. The former Roseborough Elementary school campus on the west side of North Highland was mostly demolished to make room for the new academic buildings and courtyards of the high school. This allowed the high school to continue functioning on its campus east of North Highland during construction of the new buildings across the street. Once the buildings were completed staff and students moved out of the old campus so it could be demolished to make room for the new performing arts center, wellness facility, gym and parking. Community use of the performing arts center and athletic facilities was central to the overall layout of the high school. The two sides of the school are linked by a first-of- its-kind high school pedestrian bridge in Central Florida.
