- Automotive Training Facility Design criteria for
Seminole Community College - After developing SCC's Sanford/Lake Mary
Campus master plan, CTH+A was selected to design the first component
of the new master plan, the Automotive Training Facility,. SCC's premier
automotive programs have outgrown their dated facilities, so the College
and the Central Florida Auto Dealers Association have committed to provide
the program with a new state-of-the-art training facility. CTH+A first
generated the educational specifications for the building, followed
by the Design Criteria Documents for the project. The 51,000 SF facility
will include five instruction modules with classrooms, labs, vehicle
workshop stalls and storage rooms. Two manufacturer training labs are
provided for corporate clients, as well as a large multi-purpose showroom
space for practical sales training simulations. Administrative offices
for both the automotive department and the new home of CFADA also are
part of the plan.
- East Campus Building 8 and Garage for Valencia Community
College - Building 8 is a 78,500 GSF facility with high-tech "smart"
classrooms, chemistry labs, physical science labs, faculty offices,
covered walkways and parking for students and staff. The parking garage
is located at the southern parking lot adjacent to Building 7 and 8
and can accommodate approximately 310 spaces. It will provide additional
parking close to the academic core and allow for vertical and horizontal
expansion in the future.
VCC CRIMINAL JUSTICE INSTITUTE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
One of only 39 criminal justice training centers certified by the Florida
Department of Law Enforcement, Division of Standards and Training, the
CJI offers basic training certificate programs for law enforcement, corrections,
and crossover from corrections to law enforcement. The new facility will
be roughly 72,000 GSF and include high-tech "smart" classrooms,
computer labs, a defensive tactics/physical training facility, teaching
auditorium and administrative support spaces.
LAKE COUNTY'S MOUNT DORA AND EUSTIS HIGH SCHOOLS
NEAR COMPLETION
The new Mount Dora High School campus combines its original 25 acres with
the former 8.5 acre Roseborough Elementary School campus, separated from
each other by the north/south running North Highland Street. Practical
circulation and parking patterns, functional relationship and accessibility
to both sides of North Highland Street, and logical visual locations were
fundamental in determining the placement of new buildings and programs.
The middle of the new campus was "opened-up" with the creation
of an academic courtyard for school gatherings.
The Eustis High School campus is comprised of two sites
separated by Washington Avenue. Five acres to the north are designated
for parking, and 21.8 acres to the south comprise the academic core. The
original two-story 1941 art deco school building was restored, including
the removal of a 1973 addition off of the front façade. New buildings
include a cafeteria, a two-story classroom building and expansion/renovation
of the existing gymnasium.

FIRM'S PRO BONO WORK BENEFITS THE BOYS &
GIRLS CLUB OSCEOLA FACILITY
CTH+A helped The Boys & Girls Club of Osceola identify and master
plan its five acre site, develop the space program and provided preliminary
design for the new facility. CTH+A worked closely with the City of Kissimmee,
its Parks Department and the Osceola County School District to develop
the preliminary master plan along with landscape architect firm Glatting

fitness, computer labs, and arts and crafts. Also included is a dance
studio, a community room, a learning resource center and a gym that will
