NTUC Pasir Ris Resort (Singapore)
C.T. Hsu International provided master planning and conceptual design services for the National Trade Union Congress’ Pasir Ris Resort on the northern coast of Singapore. The goal was to change the 35-acre resort’s focus from a passive getaway retreat to an active entertainment complex in order to remain competitive in Singapore’s changing leisure landscape.
The firm’s design redeveloped the resort’s underutilized banquet and meeting facilities into a themed food and beverage entertainment venue with assorted specialty shops. A low-key pool environment was replaced with a new 3.5-acre outdoor water park. A 5.5-acre site on the edge of the resort property, previously used for picnics and barbeques, was earmarked for a new theme park.
